  1. me and my husband made a gift basket for his mother….we put in memory pills, energy stuff, but nothing that would give away that we were pregnant…and she eventually got it….

  2. well.. how old r u?? lol don’t know! never had to do that!

  3. I just shocked my parents by having a bouquet of flowers sent to them at work saying, “congratulations” on the card…then they opened it up and it said, “from your new grandchild” They obviously freaked out, it was fun.

With my inlaws, we went shopping one day and I kept stopping to look at baby clothes and cute baby things but didn’t say a word…and by the end of the day my MIL was looking at me kind of strangely, so finally I said, “well, you don’t want your grandchild to go ***** do you?”

My pregnancy was not planned so it of course was that much more of a shock to tell them!

  4. have you ever seen that commercial for A&W. a family goes there for dinner and the daughter buys her parents grandma and grandpa burgers! it’s so cute. lol that would be an interesting way to tell your parents if you have an A&W resterant nearby. :D

  5. We wrapped up a bottle & pacifiers & gave them to our parents. As soon as they unwrapped them they knew we had a little one coming!!! Congrats on baby its so awesome i’m due with my first in July!!!

  6. my brother in law had been working on a family tree. He completed it and under his family he had ??? and a date for a kid and just waited till people noticed. Some were oblivious but others got it right away.

If a holiday is near you could get them a greeting card – like Happy Easter Grandma or something.

  7. Aww that’s cute! I don’t have kids yet, but I always thought that I would take my in laws and my parents out to dinner and do something similar to the giftbasket the first person suggested. Another idea though… have you had an ultrasound yet? You could have copies made of the pictures if you have and frame them, then during dinner pull it out to show them. Say something like mom, dad, so and so… you’re going to be grandparents!!!

  8. I went to the doctor and went I came back my uncle said so what did the doctor say?

I said oh he just said that ” I am pregnant ” he said really you are I said yes he said na u r just kidding with me I said no I am ! he said ok are you sure! LOL

but anyways I have not told really anyone just my mother in law. She said congrads on being a mommy again.

My best friend said … “Oh great thats all you need”

Do not talk to her really any more.

My parents are both dead so I guess I will have to tell myself and my husband congrads! lol
    we are happy

  9. At a family gathering I would give your parents a gift. Tell them you have been working on it for a while. When they open it have it be a picture frame that says something like Grandma’s little angel.
Or you or your husband or boyfriend or whoever can wear a shirt that says something like were gonna have a baby, or daddy , or mommy… or you can wear a shirt that says this…
Have the shirt on, take off your sweatshirt around everyone and see how long it takes for someone to notice LOL.

  10. My brother and his wife came over for dinner. As we blessed the food, my brother thanked God for the food , family and the baby on the way and just stared eating. We all sat there with our jaws agape… Baby? LOL It was great! They are on baby #2 now. BTW – Congratulations!

  11. Have shirts made that say world’s greatest grandparents, or get the bibs that say it. Or just drop little hints. Invite them over for dinner and have all “baby” foods….baby carrots, baby corn….anything that you can put baby in front of and see if they catch the theme of the dinner. Buy booties and wrap em up! Wait for the first ultrasound and get the first “family photo” with you and dad and baby on screen. Ummm….just start calling her grandma or Oma (german). He would be Opa. Send them on a treasure hunt with clues to the next destination and try to make each clue a little more baby related…maybe ending in a tower or baby food, or diapers, or formula or a crib or something…..Hope this helps!

  12. have them play a guessing game..on why you are happy
